This photograph is part of a larger series of photographs called Patterns In My Bedroom. These works were made during the COVID-19 pandemic, when I was self-isolating. I was thinking about digitally brining my world of patterns to other people in the comfort of their own homes. My entire body has been adorned with black and white patterns, and I am camouflaged in a black and white patterned bedroom. These colour choices were purposeful, and I wanted to be seen but not be seen. To keep the audience at a distance, whilst also inviting them into my private space, my bedroom. This is a representation of my personality, being shy, but wanting to move out of my comfort zone. The patterns are also therapeutic for me, as I am able to focus my attention to one thing. I want the viewer to continuously look at my patterns and find new shapes each time they look.
